- Geologist with over 19 years' of international mineral exploration and business development experience.
- Held senior executive positions with Golden Star Resources, until its acquisition in 2022, Excellon Resources and Roxgold Inc.
- Former Director of Orford Mining which was acquired by Alamos Gold.
- Until his appointment as President and CEO, served as SVP Exploration and Business development at ATEX.
Sheila Magallon
CFO
- Chartered Professional Accountant with more than 15 years’ experience in the mining sector.
- Strong background in financial reporting, internal controls, strategic planning, treasury management and change management.
- Joined GCM Mining in 2019 as Vice President, Finance where she worked through to its combination with Aris Mining. Previously served as Interim CFO, Director of Finance and Corporate Controller for publicly listed mining companies including Detour Gold, Torex Gold Resources, Primero Mining and Largo Resources.
- Throughout her career she has helped Canadian companies to optimize operations in Mexico, Colombia, Brazil and Spain.
- Obtained her CPA designation while working at KPMG LLP and holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico.
Aman Atwal
VP of Business Development and Investor Relations
- Over a decade of Corporate Development and Investor Relations experience with senior publicly traded mining companies.
- Joined from Lundin Mining as Director, Corporate Development, having spent nine years contributing to the strategy, execution, and communication of three successful acquisitions, one strategic divestiture, and a high profile attempted takeover.
- Prior to Lundin Mining, worked in Investor Relations at Barrick Gold and in Equity Research at Barclays Capital Canada covering the North American mining sector.
- Holds an MBA from McMaster University, is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and is a LLM (Master of Laws) candidate in Business Law, at York University Osgoode Hall Law School.
Owen Hatton
Director of Exploration
- Over 24 years of international experience in the exploration, management and advancement of exploration projects including Andean copper-gold porphyry systems.
- Most recently spent five years as Principal Geologist, Americas & Europe for Oz Minerals.
- Has also held senior roles at Avanco, BHP and Teck Resources.
- PhD in Economic Geology from the University of Tasmania and a BSc Degree in Geology from the University of Technology Sydney. Member of AusIMM. Holds post secondary certifications in Applied Finance and Mining Finance.
- Australian citizen with permanent residency in Chile; fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese.
